Eduardo Gomes completed his BSc in Applied Biology in 2011, in the University of Minho. In 2013, he completed his MSc in Health Sciences from the same University. He specialized in stem cells biology and biomaterials science. The conjugation of these two areas allowed him to built a strong knowledge on tissue engineering, using it as a tool for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases like Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).
Currently he is interested in the conjugation and integration of different therapy strategies aimed for SCI treatment. Particularly biomaterials science, cellular therapies and pharmacological approaches.
He is also co-author of 1 published paper in a international peer-reviewed journal.
