RicardoTaipa, born in 3 of January of 1979, is Neuropathologist at the NeuropathologyUnit, Hospital Santo António – Centro Hospitalar do Porto and ConsultantNeurologist dedicated to the Dementia Clinic, Department of Neurology, at thesame hospital. He is also one of the Directors of the recently created BrainBank for Neurological Disorders. Since 2011, he has served as a lecturer of Neuroanatomyat ICBAS, University of Porto. Since April 2003 is a PhD student at the Lifeand Health Sciences Research Institute, University of Minho.
RicardoTaipa studied medicine at the Abel Salazar Biomedical Sciences Institute(ICBAS), University of Porto, Portugal, between 1997 and 2003. From 2004 to2006, Dr Taipa worked as a research fellow at the Life and Health SciencesInstitute, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. He completed his neurologyresidency in 2011 at Hospital Santo António, Porto, and became a Fellow of theEuropean Board of Neurology in the same year. During his training, Dr Taipaworked at the Manchester Neuroscience Centre, Manchester, UK, under afellowship from the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS), andmore recently during his training in neuropathology at the Division ofNeuropathology and Queen Square Brain Bank for neurological disorders, NationalHospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London, UK.
