Joana Vieira de Castro graduated in Applied Biology in 2008 by the University of Minho (Portugal) and completed her master degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2010 by the University of Coimbra (Portugal).


She is a PhD student working at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute(ICVS), University of Minho (Portugal), under the supervision of Bruno Costa, PhD, and António Salgado, PhD. Her work is focused on the study of Glioma Stem Cell Markers.
