The School of Health Sciences (ECS) - offers high quality postgraduate training in medicine and in health sciences. The ECS integrates a research institute, the ICVS, that is part of the ICVS/3B's Associate Laboratory, classified by the National Accreditation agency with the grade of “Excellent”. ICVS has more than 200 researchers and centers its activities in the fields of Neurosciences, Surgical Sciences and Microbiology and Infection. Together with the 3B’s strategic partner in the area of Biomaterials, this Health-Sciences/Technologies interface fosters the development of innovative products and services and the generation of spin-off companies.
