The School of Medicine welcomed close to 200 students from Braga during the Brain Awareness Week.
Scientists from ICVS opened the laboratories to the community and promoted a series of activities aimed at the lay publics. Students had the chance to participate in dynamic experiences that help them understand how the brain works in health and in sickness.
Another activity (“Neuroscientists go to School”) took the ICVS neuroscientists to some schools in Braga and Porto to talk about the brain structure and functions.
The Brain Awareness Week is an international celebration that joins together scientists, families, schools and communities. This year it happens from the 13th to the 19th of march and the ICVS has associated to the initiative, that involved almost 800 students from the kindergarten to the senior university.
