Bio: Dr. Villeneuve is a Professor in the Department of Neuroscience and the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Carleton University. He completed his PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Toronto in Canada, and following graduation was research scientist at Health Canada in the Air Health Effects group for nearly a decade.  His expertise is in environmental and occupational health, and he has evaluated radiation health risks in Ontario electric utility workers, the Newfoundland Fluorspar Cohort, and the Canadian National Dose Registry. He is also leading a CIHR funded study on patterns of cancer incidence among Canadians who live near nuclear power plants, and also exploring how occupational exposure to radiation increases the risk of dementia, and ocular disorders. He is the former chair of the Technical Advisory Group on Occupational Burden of Disease Estimation for the World Health Organization.
