Electrophysiology

ICVS / Resources & Facilities

The ICVS Electrophysiology Facility includes state-of-the-art equipment and trained experts to obtain electrophysiological readouts from ex vivo and in vivo approaches. These approaches allow outstanding research to study neuronal and glial function, from cellular to circuits and behavior in physiological conditions, during development, or in disease contexts. The ex vivo platform provides us with the means to study synaptic activity and plasticity.

The in vivo platform allows the acquisition/manipulation (opto- and chemogenetics, pharmacology) of multiple signals, including electrophysiological recordings, calcium imaging (fiber photometry, miniscopes, 2-photon, micro-ultrasound) in anesthetized or freely behaving animals.
