Next Monday at 1 pm, don’t miss Anna Martinez-Muriana “Xenograft model to study human microglia in vivo” at the A0.03 auditorium in UMinho’s School of Medicine.
Anna Martinez-Muriana obtained her PhD in 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Ruben Lopez-Vales in Barcelona, Spain. From those studies, she gained interest in the role of the microglia in neurodegeneration. In 2019, she moved to Belgium to do a postdoc at the laboratory of Prof. Bart De Strooper, a renown Alzheimer’s disease researcher. During this stage, Anna deepen her knowledge in microglia and pioneered a human microglia xenotransplantation model, opening unprecedented venues to study human microglia genetics, development and disease.
