Helena is finishing her PhD in Applied Health Sciences at the ICVS/School of Medicine from the University of Minho, supervised by Dr. António Salgado and Dr. Ana Oliveira.In 2018, she completed her Master’s degree in Neurobiology (Faculty of Medicine, UPorto).Her main interests are focused on studying the therapeutic potential of Mesenchymal Stem Cells inside Gellan Gum matrices as a therapy for Traumatic Brain Injury. During her PhD, she has been dedicated to implementing a new reliable in vitro model of Traumatic Brain Injury, which allows the study of drugs and therapies.
