ICVS Seminar “Promoting Spinal Cord Injury Regeneration through the Combination of Stem Cell Secretome and the Omega-3 fatty acid Docosahexaenoic acid”
November 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Next Monday at 1 pm, don’t miss Jonas Campos “Promoting Spinal Cord Injury Regeneration through the Combination of Stem Cell Secretome and the Omega-3 fatty acid Docosahexaenoic acid” at the A0.03 auditorium in UMinho’s School of Medicine.
Jonas Campos has a BSc in Nutrition Sciences by the São Camilo University Center and a Master’s degree in Biochemistry by the University of Beira Interior. He is currently a 4th year PhD student at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute in the School of Medicine at the University of Minho. His work is centered on the development and study of the combined use of Mesenchymal Stem Cell secretome and the dietary omega-3 fatty acid Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) to promote regeneration for spinal cord injury. He is interested in the mechanistic understanding of how nutritional compounds and dietary interventions modulate stem cell function with the ultimate goal of leveraging this understanding for the development of regenerative strategies and therapies for neurological diseases, in particular spinal cord injuries.
