Over 2,000 visitors attended the event at Forum Braga, where ICVS offered interactive activities showcasing the science behind health and well-being.
On September 26th, 2025, the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS) joined the European Researchers’ Night (NEI 2025) at Forum Braga, contributing to an inspiring and engaging evening of science communication and public outreach.
Throughout the event, ICVS (with the collaboration of 2CA-Braga, P5 and SfN – Minho Chapter) offered a variety of hands-on activities designed to bring health research closer to the public. Visitors of all ages had the chance to explore the brain under the microscope, experience virtual reality, learn how science helps protect the planet, and engage in interactive games and experiments for children.
The event was part of the local NEI 2025 programme in Braga, coordinated by the School of Sciences of the University of Minho, in collaboration with the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL). Under the theme “Science for Global Challenges”, the programme featured around 180 activities throughout the day.
The Science Fair, which included projects by primary and secondary school students, once again highlighted the importance of early science education and community involvement. In total, more than 2,000 visitors participated in the Braga edition of the European Researchers’ Night.
NEI Braga also received strong institutional support from InvestBraga, Forum Braga, and JetStand, reinforcing the region’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and education.
The ICVS team was thrilled to take part in this initiative and thanks everyone who stopped by to discover more about science in the service of health.
