The Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), R&D Unit of the School of Medicine of the University of Minho, announces the award of 1 (one) Animal Facility – Staff Member position in a contract of uncertain duration to carry out the following functions:
• Supporting biomedical experimentation and innovation using animal models, carried out under different biosafety conditions (BS), including clean areas (BS level 1) and biocontainment areas (BS level 2 or level 3), by providing daily care and maintenance of animals according to species specific needs.
• Collaboration in stock management, digital record keeping of animals and procedures, and giving support to procedures on animals as well as animal welfare monitoring.
• Preparation, washing, and sterilization of materials used in animal care and in research involving animal models.
• Collaboration in equipment maintenance and in the monitoring of the infrastructures of the Animal Facility Unit (UBiot), including surveillance of animal housing conditions and laboratory safety aspects.
