ICVS IS LOOKING FOR RESEARCHERS

The Novel Approaches in Nervous System Regenerative Medicine (ReNEU) Research Team is opening a call for expressions of interest for the recruitment of an Auxiliary Researcher, within the scope of a research project focused on mechanisms of degeneration and regeneration of the nervous system.

The project is framed within the scientific areas of Neuroscience and Immunology, with particular emphasis on inflammatory and neuroimmune mechanisms in models of central nervous system injury, including spinal cord injury. The work plan to be developed involves the characterization of peripheral and central immune responses, as well as the functional manipulation of peripheral neuronal circuits, aiming to understand mechanisms regulating inflammation and neural repair.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Health Sciences, Biomedicine, Biomedical Sciences, or related fields, with acquired knowledge and/or experience in neurosurgery, flow cytometry of nervous and immune tissues, molecular profiling and animal models of central nervous system injury.

Interested applicants are invited to send an updated Curriculum Vitae (in CiênciaVitae format), a motivation letter and a copy of the PhD certificate to nunosilva@med.uminho.pt.

Applications are open until 20 February 2026.
