The Inflammation, Cell Signalling and Therapeutics (InflammaSignal) team at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), University of Minho is recruiting a motivated and talented PhD researcher within the scope of the R&D project “In vitro screening-based selection and in vivo efficacy evaluation of bacteriophages as potential new assets in the topical treatment of Buruli Ulcer disease”.
Preference will be given to candidates with a relevant scientific curriculum as well as technical expertise in animal models of mycobacterial infection (FELASA Cat C accreditation), microbiology, immunology, and Biosafety Level 3 laboratories.
The ICVS is strategically located within a fast-growing Cluster of Biomedical Science, Technology and Healthcare organizations. Within the ICVS, the InflammaSignal team is focused on better understanding the coordinated activation of different signaling pathways that regulate the host inflammatory response and on developing innovative therapeutic/diagnostic strategies for the underlying mechanisms of inflammatory chronic diseases.
