Miguel Ribeiro has a MSc degree in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. Currently, he is a PhD student in the Applied Health Sciences program at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), School of Medicine – University of Minho, in collaboration with Stemmatters, SA. The goal of the PhD project is the development of xenogeneic-free, clinical grade human platelet lysate formulations for human cell expansion in the context of cell-based therapies. His main research interest is regenerative medicine and the development of cell-based therapies targeting the central nervous system.
