Carla Rolanda finished her PhD in 2009, and is now an invited Associate Professor at the School of Medicine of the University of Minho (UM), dedicated to gastrointestinal (GI) Physiology and Gastroenterology.
Works also at Gastroenterology Department of the Hospital of Braga as Consultant Doctor. Her clinical activity is mainly devoted to Hepatology, GI Oncology and Endoscopy (diagnosis and treatment of digestive pre-malignant lesions, and paliation of advanced GI neoplasia). At UM’s ICVS/3B’s associated laboratory participates as researcher and coordinator/faculty of internationally recognized advanced endoscopy courses, and other medical meetings. Has been part of the Governing Board of different scientific societies – ESGE Education Committee (2011-19); Portuguese Society of Digestive Endoscopy (2017-21); Clube Endoscópico do Eixo Atlântico (2015-22).
She has supervised a total of 15 Master Degrees, 6 PhD Students (3 of whom have already completed their PhD), and two Residents in Gastroenterology. According to the web of science, she has published 79 scientific articles in international indexed journals, with 947 citations and acounts with 67 invited conferences and >150 scientific comunications.
