Matilde Gomes (MD) is a psychiatry resident at Hospital de Braga. She began her collaboration with ICVS during her Integrated Master’s in Medicine, where she conducted a thesis on automated speech analysis in obsessive-compulsive disorder. Currently, she is working on a research project related to the use of third-generation psychotherapies in schizophrenia. Specifically, she is studying the impact of Compassion-Focused Therapy on the rehabilitation of patients with schizophrenia and examining the influence of this therapy on the emotional regulation process from the perspective of functional imaging.
