  • fetal growth restriction
  • power doppler indexes
  • fetal medicine

Alexandra Miranda (MD) first became interested in research while she was a student at the University of Minho School of Medicine, where she developed basic research on Association of Toll-like Receptor 9 gene polymorphism with the risk of gliomas in Portuguese patients under Professor Rui Reis supervision. She graduated in Medicine in 2010 and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2018. During residency she starts focusing her investigation in fetal pathology. Currently, she is an Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant in Hospital de Braga and is performing her Ph.D. project under Cristina Nogueira Silva’s supervision, which aims to unravel details on pathophysiology of late fetal growth restriction and placental senescence.
