Master in Veterinary Medicine by University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (2009), PhD in Health Sciences by University of Minho (2018) and Master in Laboratory Animal Science and Welfare by Universitàt Autonoma de Barcelona (2022). Alice is the Designated Veterinarian at Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), School of Medicine, University of Minho since 2009, with activity mainly focused on veterinary support in matters of welfare and care of animals used in research activities. Alice is also Veterinarian of the Animal Welfare Body ORBEA EM/ICVS_I3Bs/3Bs. Research interests in Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, anesthesia and ultrasound imaging. Authorship and co-authorship of more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Member of the European Society of Laboratory Animal Veterinarians (ESLAV) and Portuguese Society of Laboratory Animal Science (SPCAL).
