Beatriz Fontão is currently a MSc student in Health Sciences at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS) at University of Minho. She has a BSc in Genetics and Biotechnology completed in University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in 2022. She executed a laboratory rotation throughout her initial year as a master’s student, centered on the RKIP protein as a prostate cancer biomarker. Presently she is working on her master thesis focused on RKIP regulated miRNAs in Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST).
