Carlos Fernando Collares is an Occupational Medicine physician with a master’s degree in Psychology (Neurosciences and Behavior) and a Ph.D. in Psychology (Psychological Assessment), and is an Affiliate Professor at the School of Medicine, Braga, Portugal. He is also part of the Population Health Research Domain at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute, Braga, Portugal. He co-supervises Ph.D. students in the field of assessment in healthcare professions education. His interests include developing and evaluating questionnaires, assessment tools, and other applications using factor analysis, item response theory, cognitive diagnostic modelling, structural equation modeling, computerized adaptive testing, network psychometrics, learning analytics, and artificial intelligence. He is also an assessment specialist for the European Board of Medical Assessors and an independent consultant for educational and licensing institutions worldwide.
