Domingos Correia de Oliveira holds a degree in Nursing from the Viana do Castelo School of Nursing and a specialization in Clinical Nutrition from the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences, University of Porto. He is also a certified Specialist in Maternal and Obstetrical Health and earned a Master’s degree in Health Institutions Management from the Geneva School of Economics and Management, where his thesis evaluated the organizational, operational, and managerial impacts of implementing a computerized care-record system in home-care services.

With extensive managerial experience in the socio-health sector, Domingos has developed a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities posed by digital transformation in healthcare and education. Currently a PhD student in Biomedicine and Health Sciences at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), University of Minho, he researches the integration of new technologies in healthcare and pedagogy, with a focus on simulation-based learning and digital innovation in nursing education.

An active member of the scientific committee of the Gamification & Serious Games Symposium (Neuchâtel, Switzerland), the Swiss Association for Nursing Science, and the Digital Nursing Science community, Domingos has led several innovative initiatives, including serious-game prototypes such as SG4ER (Serious Games for Emergency Rescue) and PRITS (Patients’ Rights Innovative Teaching Strategy). He currently heads the GlasgowSim Project, which enhances neurological-evaluation training through simulation.
