Ehsan Omidvar is a PhD student at the ICVS/School of Medicine at the University of Minho, where he is conducting innovative research on the ‘Development of Secretome-loaded Biomimetic Nanoparticles for Effective Targeting of Gliosis in Spinal Cord Injury.’ His work aims to enhance therapeutic strategies for spinal cord injuries by leveraging advanced nanotechnology and cellular biology.
He earned his BSc degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Mohaghegh Ardebili in Iran. During his bachelor’s studies, he completed two paid internships at Golestan University of Medical Science and AryaTinaGene Biopharmaceutical Company, where he was working as a part-time researcher. He then obtained an MSc in Molecular Genetics from the University of Minho, achieving a final grade of 18 out of 20. During his master’s program, Ehsan received an Erasmus Research Internship Scholarship and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of KU Leuven in Belgium. After completing his MSc, he continued to grow in his field by taking on a fellowship position before starting his PhD.
