Flávia Figueira has a degree in Cardiopneumology from the Portuguese Red Cross Higher School of Health, a postgraduate degree in Pedagogy for Higher Education from the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences in Luanda, Angola and a master’s degree in Public Health and Development from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the New University of Lisbon. She taught higher education at two private universities in Angola from 2018 to 2023. She is currently a PhD candidate in Health Sciences at the University of Minho, Portugal. Flávia has supervised a number of undergraduate final year projects, with a particular interest in chronic non-communicable diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases. Specifically, Flávia is focused on understanding the relationship between the Human Immunodeficiency Virus and cardiovascular diseases.
