Flávia Figueira holds a degree in Cardiopneumonology from the School of Health of the Portuguese Red Cross, Lisbon. She completed a postgraduate diploma in Pedagogy of Higher Education at the Higher Institute of Education Sciences of Luanda, Angola, and earned an MSc in Public Health and Development from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, NOVA University Lisbon.
From 2018 to 2023, Flávia lectured at two private universities in Angola, focusing on chronic non-communicable diseases—particularly cardiovascular disease—and promoting community health awareness. She is currently a PhD student in Health Sciences at the University of Minho, where her research explores the interplay between HIV and cardiovascular disease to improve prevention, diagnosis, and management strategies within a public-health framework.
