I am a master student enrolled in the Health Sciences master program of School of Medicine, University of Minho. Currently, I am developing my master project entiteled “Tau protein as a regulator of the hippocampal neurogenic niche”, under supervision of Joana Silva and Luisa Pinto. The project aims to understand Tau as a modulator of the epigenetic landscape and its impact on gene expression and plasticity of the hippocampal neurogenic niche.
Since a biology undergraduate student I’ve been interested in neuronal function and integration, and curious about the relevance of new neurons for higher brain function and their loss in neurodegeneration.
