João Barbosa graduated in Biotechnology by the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (2016-2019). In 2020 he started the MSc on Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Bioentrepreneurship and is currently finishing the master thesis. He is developing his work within the Translational Neurogenetics research team, in collaboration with the Department of Biology of the University of Minho (Dr. Rui Oliveira), the objective of the study being to investigate macroalgae extracts for neuroprotection bioactivities in suitable biological models (S. cerevisiae and C. elegans).
