Jorge Correia-Pinto is a full professor and currently the Dean of the Medical School at University of Minho. At the Hospital of Braga is senior consultant and currently the Director of the Pediatric Surgery Department. As a pediatric surgeon, he differentiated with particular emphasis in the areas of neonatal, digestive and pulmonary surgery. Promoted, developed and patented custom systems for pectus excavatum and carinatum correction. He has supervised a total of 30 PhD students (25 of whom have already completed their PhD) and two Residents in Pediatric Surgery. He has published more than 200 scientific articles in international journals indexed in Pubmed (factor h-28). Faculty member of the prestigious IRCAD-Surgical Training Centers in advanced training courses in Pediatric Surgery. He is the global coordinator of the international program ‘Hands-on courses in minimally invasive surgery’ at the University of Minho School of Medicine and Braga Hospital, which provides training in minimally invasive surgery to over 500 surgeons / year of various specialties.
