Miguel Sá Breda has obtained Integrated Master’s degree in Medicine (MSc) in 2010 (final work: Ménière’s Disease review) by University of Lisboa. He has completed Otorhinolaryngology residence between 2013-2017 in Hospital de Braga. He has differentiated in Otology, namely lateral skull base, endoscopic ear surgery and hearing rehabilitation implants. Between 2019 and 2021 he completed Harvard Medical School – Portugal Clinical Scholars Research Training Program. Actually, he develops his clinical work in the at ULS Braga, he is tutor of medical students in School of Medicine of Minho University and is Researcher at Surgical Sciences & Allied Technologies of the ICVS. His main research work is focused on experimental ear surgery “Management and Surgical Access of the Petrous Portion of the Temporal Bone”. He is the head of Braga Otology Group and Director of the UEMS credited courses – Braga Otology Surgery and EndoEar Braga. He is (co)author of more than seventy communications in scientific meetings. He belongs to a workgroup of Sociedade Portuguesa de Otorrinolaringologia e Cirurgia Cabeça e Pescoço, additionally, he belongs to the board of Sociedad Gallega de Otorrinolaringología y Patología Cérvico-Facial, and he is the only Portuguese member of International Working Group on Endoscopic Ear Surgery. He is also member of European Academy of Otology & Neuro-Otology, European Skull Base Society, Sociedad Española de Patologia de Base de Crâneo, and Sociedad Española de Otorrinolaringología y Cirugía de Cabeza y Cuello. He is reviewer of several scientific journals.
