Patrícia Soares Coelho has an academic background in psychology and neuroscience, holding an Integrated Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Minho and a European Master’s Degree in Neurocognitive Processes and Affective Sciences (PPNSA) from the University of Lille. She is an effective member of the Portuguese Psychologists Association (nº 25608).
Her professional experience includes both clinical and research work, focusing especially on neuropsychology and mental health. She has worked with neuromodulation techniques and has conducted assessments of cognitive and emotional functioning. In 2020, she was a Research Fellow at Proaction Lab – Center for Research in Neuropsychology and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention at the University of Coimbra. She also spent two years as a Research Fellow at the Psychological Neuroscience Laboratory of the University of Minho, where she deepened her expertise in experimental and cognitive neuroscience.
She has been a Research Fellow at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS) and at the P5 Digital Medicine Center, both located at the School of Medicine, University of Minho (Gualtar Campus, Braga, Portugal). At the same time, she manages the Neuropsychology Unit at the Psychology Association of the University of Minho, working as a Neuropsychologist.
Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences with an FCT grant at ICVS, focusing on a project about pathological gambling related to scratch cards. Her research takes a multimodal approach—combining epidemiological assessment, neuroimaging, and cognitive evaluation—to better understand the mechanisms behind this emerging public health issue.
