ICVS researchers win the Maria de Sousa 2023 award

Nuno Dinis Alves and Sara Calafate, researchers from ICVS at the School of Medicine, are distinguished this Thursday, November 16th, with the Maria de Sousa prize.
The Grünenthal Dor Prize 2022, in basic research, was awarded to work carried out by researchers from the ICVS ReNEU and NoPain thematic teams, published in the Stem Cells & Development journal.
The ICVS researchers are part of 65 UMinho scientists who are in the 2% most cited in the world over the last year, according to a study by Stanford University (USA) and the Elsevier editorial group.
“Discovering the Connections between Space and Human Health”, the activity developed by ICVS researchers was a success at the European Researchers’ Night, an event that took place last Friday, September 29th, at Altice Forum Braga.
