Nuno F. Rodrigues is an Assistant Professor in the School of Technology at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA). He is currently the head of the Digital Games Research Centre (DIGARC) where he investigates new methodologiesand technologies for the improvement and development of digital games. He is also a member of the Algoritmi research unit at Minho University. His main research interests focus on the application of sound programming methods and analysis to the development of serious games and medical systems. He coordinates and is involved in several research and development projects, namely projects fundedby the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, and projects in cooperation with technology companies (Portlane, QUID Box). He is currently the Director of the School of Technology at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave. Nuno F. Rodrigues received his Lic. in Mathematics and Computer Science in2003 from Minho University. In 2009 he received his Ph.D. in Informatics Engineering from the Engineering School at Minho University. Between 2009 and 2010 he joined the European project CACE (Computer AidedCryptography Engineering) as a Postdoc Researcher. Since 2010he has been collaborating with ICVS/3B’s Associated Laboratory PT applying his expertisein software analysis and specification as well as advanced programmingtechniques to several medical systems projects concerning the development of novel human-machine interfaces basedon natural user interfaces, and robotic guided surgery for minimal invasivesurgeries. He iscurrently a member of the beSurg Research Group at ICVS/3B's AssociatedLaboratory.
