Ana Vale (22 years old, BSc), MSc student in Applied Biochemistry (School of Sciences, University of Minho, Braga). Ana Vale completed the Biochemistry degree (School of Sciences, University of Minho, Braga) in 2020, during which she had the opportunity to participate on a project at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute concerning the elucidation of Sorting Nexin 27 role in the nervous system. Currently, she is pursuing the project “Exploring SNX3 and SNX27 role in nervous system function – insights from aged and “stressed” synapses” as her Master’s thesis, at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute. She is mainly focused on understanding how Sorting Nexins (SNXs) function and expression are modulated by stress and aging, two precipitators of proteostasis dysregulation and neurodegeneration, using both rodent and in vitro approaches.
