I am a student of the MD/PhD program of University of Minho (Braga, Portugal) and Columbia University (New York, USA), under the supervision of Tiago Gil Oliveira and Steve Siegelbaum. The main focus of my research is the role of interneurons in hippocampal physiology and pathology, namely in Alzheimer’s disease. Besides, I am involved in neuroimaging human studies, as well as in other projects of the team focused on lipid metabolism and trafficking in neurodegeneration. After completing my PhD studies, I will continue my medical training in parallel with investigation.
