Ruth Victoria Esho holds a BSc in Microbiology and Industrial Biotechnology (Caleb University, Nigeria) and an MSc in Health Sciences (University of Minho, Portugal). Her master’s thesis—conducted with the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory—characterised novel phenotypic features of Plasmodium falciparum using low-field NMR to monitor heme dynamics throughout the intra-erythrocytic cycle.

Now undertaking a PhD in Biomedicine and Health Sciences at ICVS, University of Minho, Ruth investigates malaria pathogenesis and drug-resistance mechanisms through multidisciplinary approaches that integrate NMR, molecular biology, and genetic manipulation.
